André R. Norwood serves as the Minister of Maturity and oversees the education department at Woodlawn Forrest. He also serves as the leader of Body Life Group 4, and he facilitates several workshops including “Gaining Your Soul in Fifteen Ways” and “Discovering Spiritual Maturity”.

André graduated from Valdosta High School in 1989. After graduating, he served in the United States Army, where he saw combat action in Operation Desert Storm and was awarded the Army Accommodation Medal. His education includes the Online School of Biblical Studies, the Fire Fighters Soul Winners Plan, The Practical Church Growth Workshop, and the personal training of Evangelist Leroy Butler, Jr.

He has authored several works since coming to Christ. These include “The Practical Guide to Fasting”, “How To Be Restored”, and “The Sound Theology Curriculum”. In addition, he has written an effective personal evangelism plan titled “The Necessity of Unity”.

André has a love for conducting personal, one- on- one Bible studies in order to lead others to Christ. His preaching style is illustrative and practical, and he has preached and conducted gospel meetings in several major cities.

Over the years, he has made many major accomplishments in the church. While conducting a gospel meeting in Adel, he baptized eleven people. He has mentored several young aspiring gospel preachers. He also developed and conducted a workshop called “Seven Steps to Being Better”. His most recent work is called “The Lose to Win Marriage Enrichment Workshop”.

He is married to Shalina Yvonne Norwood. They have one daughter, Alicia René Norwood.
